Wings Sonnet

I dreamed I had wings,

Over mountains I soared,

Listening as the land sings,

Even as the winds roared,

Free as the open air,

As happy as the birds,

Completely unaware,

There were no words,

But down below they plotted,

They wanted me caged,

And soon I was spotted,

And I fell enraged,

I loved to soar over them all,

But couldn't handle the fall,
