Surrounded

A yellow leaf sways on the branch of a dead tree in the wind. As the wind blows steadily the leaf shakes and shivers snapping of the branch and into the air. The wind carries it through the forest to a very dark area where it falls to the ground. As it touches the ground frost spreads like mold over it. This happens so fast it should be impossible. But there is nothing usual about this part of the forest. A girl at the age of 16 runs through the opening between two trees and steps on the leaf creating a loud crunching sound. The girl’s breath is white and wispy in the cold. The same frost which covered the leaf now spread to the trees and their leaves from the ground. The girl frantically reaches into her bag grasping for her camera. When she takes it out, she switches it to thermal and peers through it. Through the camera hundreds of shadowy figures surround her. The now shattered leaf shutters as the lurid scream of the girl fill's the air and cold blood spills on the frozen ground towards it.
