Soul Weapon

I brush my fingertips across the red satin fabric that makes up my skirt. I smile I love the feeling of it. I look up into the mirror. My black curly hair is pulled back into a fancy updo I don't even know how to describe or where to begin. Its a cross of a bun and a braid. Roses lay in my hair like a crown. My extremely dark brown eyes are lined with makeup. My lips are covered with red lipstick and my mother's red loop earrings hang from my ears. The red dress I am wearing has a puffy red skirt, a red corset, and red detached sleeves almost like gloves. I look beautiful. Today is the day were I graduate. I am officially a grown up and will earn my soul weapon. I can only guess and hope it will be a cool weapon. I smile remembering Sidney's party two months ago.

It was an awesome party with lots of fun games. We almost didn't realize when the alarm went off at 9:38 and a bright pink light engulfed her. It lasted only a few seconds and when it ended two of the most beautiful pink pearl daggers lay in her hands. They were dangerous and beautiful. She was so happy. The weaponry is supposed to reflect your personality and strengths so it gave me more insight into her true soul.

The doorbell rings snapping me from my daydream. I run downstairs excitement coursing through my veins. I yank the door open and Sydney enters followed by Mia.

"OMG! Trinity, you look absolutely stunning!" Mia shrieks at me.

 I grin. "Thank you."

I lead them into the living room were mom greets them. The doorbell rings again over and over. In a matter of an hour, every party guest arrives and the party begins. We play and eat for hours. I look at the clock constantly the anticipation drowning me. Finally at 11:23 the alarm rings and everyone turns to look at me. I twitch waiting, my body rigid in anticipation. In a matter of seconds, I am engulfed in pitch black. I fell something soft in my hands. The black light leaves and I struggle to adjust my eyes to the light. Everyone leans forwards confused. I look from there faces to my hands. Resting on my lap is a weapon I have never seen before. If it even is a weapon. I open it and two bottles fall out one filled with red liquid is tiny with barely any liquid in it and the other is much bigger with green liquid. I realize my tongue hurts badly and I run to the bathroom taking the bottles with me. I stick my tongue out and a see very weird looking piercing on my tongue. A small metal snake piercing lays stuck to my tongue. It looks like a snake is slithering from the back of my throat to my teeth. I reach to grab it and as soon as I do I notice that the snake is covered in a million tinny spikes. My finger touches one but nothing happens. I look in the mirror and my reflection stares back equally confused. Frustrated I grab the snake its spikes poking painfully into me. I detach it from my tongue. As I turn it around I notice a latch on its tail. I carefully unlatch it and open it. A green liquid splashes inside it. What the fudge is this supposed to do? I look down at the bottles and the bag. A small piece of paper peaks out from inside the bag. I grab it and unravel it.

Poison Kiss. Fill snake with green poison latch it shut and peirce it snuggly to the tongue. The spikes will fill with poison and kill anyone who kisses you. You will need to drink the contents of the red bottle to become immune. This will kill anyone in 10 minutes.

I look back to the mirror absolutely confused and terrified. I touched it! I reattach the snake to my tongue despite the pain and drink the contents of the very small red bottle. My body tingles as it runs down my throat. I place the note and green bottle back into the bag and exit the bathroom. Everyone stares at me as I come back into the living room.

"So what was that?" Mia asks.

I shake my head lying. "I really have no clue," I say knowing that my weapon would cause them to fear.

I mean what does this say about me. I am poisonous. I motion for Mia to come with me. She hops up and follows me into the bathroom. I shut the door behind her as she enters.

"Okay, what's the matter?" She asks her face expressing her curiosity.

I stick my tongue out and grab the note out of the bag handing it to her. She examines the piercing in astonishment while reading the note. Her wide eyes eyeing the snake tells me all I need to know.

"Holy cowgirl. That is one unique weapon." She says handing the note back.

I frown as her jaw continues to hang open. "We have got to show Sydney this. This is way cooler than our weapons!" She exclaims.

I nearly choke on my saliva at this. "Are you crazy. This super dangerous. And I mean what does this say about me. Do you think people will be afraid of me?" I ask pacing around the bathroom super nervous. She laughs.

"Oh, yea. You got that right. No one's kissing you now. But dont worry you arnt chasing me away." She says being totally honest. I smile. "But of course I always knew you were a little poisonous." She says nudging me. I know she is joking but I cant help but feel a little uneasy with my new soul weapon.
